England’s Historic 9-1 Victory over Serbia in Euro 2025 Qualifier
England’s U21 Team Dominates in Nottingham
Exceptional Performance Leads to Goal-Scoring Bonanza
In a remarkable display of attacking prowess, England’s U21 team secured a resounding 9-1 victory over Serbia in their UEFA Euro 2025 Under-21 Championship qualifying match at Nottingham’s City Ground on Friday evening.
The Young Lions, fresh off their triumph at last summer’s European Championships, showcased their dominance from the outset, with Chelsea forward Noni Madueke opening the scoring just seven minutes into the contest. Debutant Jaden Philogene-Bidace added the second midway through the first half, setting the tone for a night of goals.
Serbia managed to pull one back through Andrija Radulovic, but England responded with a barrage of strikes in the second period. Tottenham’s Dane Scarlett grabbed a brace, while Arsenal’s Folarin Balogun, Manchester City’s Liam Delap, and Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott also got on the scoresheet. Fulham’s Luke Harris completed the rout with a late penalty.
The result is a testament to the depth and talent within England’s youth setup and serves as a warning to their opponents in Group F. England now sit top of the table with six points from two matches, while Serbia languishes at the bottom with zero points.
With their next qualifying match scheduled for March 26th against Andorra, England will be looking to maintain their impressive form and continue their quest for UEFA Euro 2025 qualification. The tournament will be held in Slovakia from June 18th to July 18th, 2025.
