The Open Championship Returns to Royal Troon in 2024

A Historic Links Course

The 152nd Open Championship will take place at Royal Troon Golf Club in South Ayrshire, Scotland, from July 14-21, 2024. Royal Troon is one of the world's most iconic links courses, having hosted The Open nine times previously. The course is known for its challenging layout, which features narrow fairways, deep bunkers, and treacherous rough.

Past Open Champions at Royal Troon

Some of the most famous golfers in history have won The Open at Royal Troon, including Bobby Locke, Tom Watson, and Henrik Stenson. In 1950, Locke became the first player to successfully defend his Open title at Royal Troon. In 1982, Watson won a dramatic playoff over Jack Nicklaus to claim his fifth Open title. And in 2016, Stenson shot a record-breaking 63 in the final round to win by three strokes.

The 152nd Open Championship is sure to be another memorable event in the history of Royal Troon. The world's best golfers will compete for the coveted Claret Jug on one of the most challenging and iconic courses in the world.
