Former Everton and Manchester United Striker Takes the Helm

Duncan Cowan Ferguson, affectionately known as "Big Dunc," has been named the manager of Scottish League One club Inverness Caledonian Thistle. The Scottish football legend brings a wealth of experience and passion to the role, having played for and coached several top clubs throughout his career.

Ferguson, born on 27 December 1971, is best known for his two spells at Everton, where he won the FA Cup in 1995 and competed in the qualifying stages of the UEFA Champions League in 2005. The towering striker is also remembered for his time at Manchester United, where he played under legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Ferguson retired from playing in 2006 and began his coaching career as an assistant manager at Preston North End. He later joined Everton's coaching staff and had brief stints as caretaker manager in 2019 and 2022.

Commenting on his appointment at Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Ferguson expressed his excitement and readiness to step into football management. He said, "I've had a one-on-one conversation with Sir Alex Ferguson, and I'm ready for this challenge. I can't wait to get started."
