Reds Lose to Oldest Franchise in Major League Baseball
Cincinnati Reds Defeat Baltimore Orioles
Irvin Extends Scoreless Streak
The Baltimore Orioles have lost to the Cincinnati Reds, the oldest franchise in Major League Baseball. The Orioles were shut out by Reds pitcher Kyle Bradish, who struck out six batters through the first three innings. The Orioles' only hit in the last seven innings was a soft grounder deflected by the pitcher that didn't leave the infield.
Cole Irvin extended his scoreless streak to 20 2/3 innings for the Orioles, but it wasn't enough to prevent the loss. The Orioles are now 3-6 this season, while the Reds are 4-5.
The Orioles will face the Reds again on Sunday in the final game of their three-game series.
